Codecademy has always been about empowering everyone to develop a lucrative career and the social power that comes with it — especially people without college degrees, working in a dead-end job, or in marginalized communities.

So for this series of ads, we wanted to show that natural, deep-seated alignment between our brand the increasingly frustrated working class. To do this, we employed an oldie but a goodie — the classic agitprop poster. The results stirred up our audience and produced lots of social engagement, which in turn made these ads very cost-effective to run.
